The "first" Crank album was called Wanton Phenomena and it was released on the Phthalo label. The Wanton Phenomena cd on Mille Plateaux is basically a re-release of the Crank cd on the Phthalo label with two small differences: . The track Lamb Baah, which appeared on the Phthalo version of Wanton Phenomena, was removed from the Mille Plateaux version and put on the Modulation & Transformation #4 compilation. . A new track, 10"+, was added to the end of the Mille Plateaux version. Here is an old recoreview of it: . Crank: Wanton Phenomena cd (Phthalo 04) Another new album from Danny Zelonky aka Low Res, this time on Phthalocyanine?s Phthalo label. This one has more of an organic & percussive sound to it than this recent Approximate Love Boat cd on Plug Research but don't let that frighten you at all. Wanton Phenomena contains twelve tracks of quality IDM that fits in nicely with recent releases from Solvent, Bola, Bannlust, Epy, and Lustmord vs Metalbeast. Expect haunting melodies over crunchy, often polyrhythmic percussion with just a touch of experimentalism. Another great release from Danny Z and the Phthalo limited cdr release series. 9/10 -->-Lance--- mclance@nacs.net lance@inaudible.com p.o. box 450715 westlake, ohio 44145 united states
