My interview with Bang On A Can's David Lang about Eno's Music For Airports has just been published by Musicworks magazine. When Lang was transcribing his section of Music For Airports for Bang On A Can's new arrangements of it, he discovered something not previously known about the original, which goes to the heart of Eno's working methods at the time. Musicworks magazine is a quarterly Canadian journal that focuses on avant garde/experimental/academic-oriented music. Also in the issue are articles by filmmaker Stan Brakhage, musician Stuart Dempster on working with David Tudor and the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, plus four other pieces about Tudor. Each issue comes with a cd, Number 73 Spring 1999 features Stuart Dempster (2 tracks), field recordings from Borneo and three pieces performed or written by David Tudor. Musicworks is distributed by ReR (U.K.), Silenzio (Italy), Metamkine (France) and Ingram (US). Or contact: Musicworks 179 Richmond St. W.
