Valence's _Music For TransNeptunian Space_ (Pitchcadet), which I coincidentally happened to be playing while reading this thread, ideally fits the bill of emotional/romantic IDM. It's filled with gorgeous, slo-mo melodies and vaporous atmospheres and is executed with restraint and exceptional skill. If I were human, I'd probably be crying now.
