I have to agree with these sentiments. IDM pleases my creative and intellectual side immensely, but sometimes leaves my emotional side feeling slightly hollow. This was particularly bad about a month and a half ago. My remedy was to listen to a bit more vocal and egoistic music, such as Tom Waits or Edith Piaf. I think that the greatest virtue of most electronic music is precisely that it minimizes the ego of the composer. Like classical music, IDM is based almost purely on sonic appeal. I can't imagine what it would be like to listen to music where someone is telling me how they feel all the time. Anyone agree? --- SOMA806@aol.com wrote:

===== The Situationists maintained that ordinary people have all the tools they need for revolution. The only thing missing is a perceptual shift - a tantalizing glimpse of a new way of being - that suddenly brings everything into focus. - Kalle Lasn __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
