The Beat Classics comp was pretty good. I am not that knowledgeable
about hip hop as old as alot of that stuff. I can say that my friend
Coby was pulling out some really old Schoolly D records that had the
Tackhead/On U Sound crew producing (or collaborating)

I've heard some really great old stuff at Coby's that was excellent.
Some of it totally sounded like stuff that might of influenced Coldcut
when they did Beats and Pieces. This stuff was OLD.

I'm sure EVERYONE knows this but J Saul Kane was also involved with
Eon in the early days. I know he produced (and maybe even co-wrote)
the Spice and the whole Eon lp.
J Saul Kane has definitely been one of the best trip hop artists out
there. Recording under the name Depth Charge, Octagon Man, and
Alexander's Dark Band.
