To anyone interested in Clara Rockmore and/or the theramin: you should check
out a documentary that came out about 5-10 years back. I recall the title
being along the lines of "Theramin: An Electronic Odyssey." In addition to
some killer archive footage of Clara getting bizz-eye on her electric
antenna box, the flick features the story of prolific Soviet inventor Leon
Theramin, Soviet espionage, a tragic love story, Bob Moog, various early
wacky electronic instruments, an orchestra of dozens of theramins, and an
curious interview with a rather burnt out member of the Beach Boys (Brian
Wilson?). It's good!
I'm waiting to hear "I rock more, like Clara..." in a Beastie Boys song.
