I haven't heard that actual track (I know his "Monkey Jazz" from one of the other Future Sound comps though) - but I'd say get hold of the brilliant compilation that came out on Logic Records last year: Ian O'Brien presents ABSTRACT FUNK THEORY. Tracks featured incl. LA Synthesis, Jazzanova, Claude Young, Anthony Shakir, O'Brien himself, etc. Maybe too lazy for you? Dunno... some of it swings along just fine! Also : there's never much talk of Pussyfoot / Palm Pictures around here, but I've quite fallen in love with Daddylongleg's "Horse" album (99) - collab. between Howie B & Jeremy Shaw.
