Yeah, perhaps we should all just shut up and never post anything again.
That'd be really good wouldn't it? Perhaps we shouldn't discuss any music at
all unless we're friends of the artists who created it. Because that makes
sense.
I don't think people have any interest in changing Plaid/Black Dog's
personal debate - it's their debate (if three posts can be considered a
debate that it).
The release of the compilation album is news. About music. Therefore, this
being a discussion / mailing list about IDM, people are discussing it. The
opinions of random individuals are what this mailing list is partly about
isn't it? That the news was turned into a personal debate is the result of
the fact that the artists have problems with copyright etc.

What an offensive and ill considered remark. Reading the posts about
Plaid/BD and posting my opinion took a few token minutes out of my life. You
don't really think people are eating out enormous chunks of their lives
wringing their hands over this whole issue do you?
