i'm sure everyone would like to see those tracks released, but that doesn't
mean plaid has the legal rights to do so. warp/plaid might say/think they do
but we can't know for sure. isn't that what this whole thing is about, ken
saying they don't have the rights? does he know they don't have the rights,
or is the squabble over the fact that he worked on those tracks too and he
feels they are trying to run with those tracks, whereas plaid says that is
lie?
i love plaid and black dog, but be careful with totally siding with plaid
when we can't know the real stories behind this, regardless of how you view
each's posting to the idm list. how would you feel if a couple of your
bandmates ran off with old tracks you had a hand in and they tried to get
them released on a major label without your approval, i know i would likely
see it as a violation and try and stop it any way i could just because of
the ethics. not saying that's what happened, but we really don't know plaid
or bd, so how can we side with either (of course we would all love to see
these tracks but if ken worked on those tracks then it wouldn't be right
unless he consented, even though they apparently hate each other now).
just my two bits. of course invalid if ken isn't claiming to have worked on
the tracks and he's judging this as simply a sellout out of jealousy etc.
how sad to see two of your favorite talents go through something like this
though. ::sigh::
