To answer your question: Mauver is a definite change from Soup. It's more
aggressive, fewer melodies (no arpeggios), and more percussive bleepbloop
samples. Some very electro textures are present, less IDM. One IMO really
weak rap track (not saying that because I don't like rap) which might have
some kitch value for folks. The last track has very soup-y pads and
percussion, but it's a little formulaic to my ears. It's not that it's
_bad_, but I just find myself lost for good things to say about it.
I haven't liked any SKAM releases since "hi scores", and that's pretty
dated. I stopped buying them after the push button objects 12". I don't
want to start a war on the subject, but it's amazing to me that folks say
that the schematic label is derivative and inferior when the label they
are supposed to be emulating (for the most part) isn't putting out quality
material, or even taking itself seriously most of the time.
