Zip drives are about the cheapest solution, and in general seem to hold up. No storage medium is eternal, and being able to get replacement drives quick and relatively cheap media for backups would be a plus. Jaz is more expensive, and has a higher storage capacity. Media costs are much high than Zip. Other than that they're similarly rugged or fragile depending on your point of view. SCSI hard disks are generally pretty expensive and there isn't a good backup path unless you hook the drive to a PC and offload the drive contents.
