This is exactly Diamond's defense. When I *first* heard about this
device the only thing I could think of was how I and millions of others
could (and certainly would) use it for pirating piles of music, possibly
never paying for music ever again. For a brief moment, I had sympathy for
the record companies.
But Diamond's defense is overwhelmingly potent - free speech and
distribuation thereof beats corporate profitability (or even viability) any
day.
