Why would he kill himself when his new CD is due out on Nothing last
month?
Got two IDM CDs yesterday I was uncharacteristically impressed with:
A Guy Called Gerald - Automanik k (1990)
Pentatonik - s/t (2 CD, 1994)
Former has lots of danceable 808 grooves and beautifully chaotic,
dissonant loopy tunes, very reminiscent of 808 State 90 and ex:el. Latter
has lush, slightly moody melodies, a variety of rhythmic styles (reminded
me of Beaumont Hannant in that department), quite well thought
out and consistent, better than any of the Pentatonik compilation tracks I
had heard, which were pretty good to begin with.
