Wednesday, September 30, 1998 8-10pm: Surface 10 Live Performance
Dean DeBenedictas has been making a big impression in the IDM
community as of late. His self titled first release on the
Hypnotic Label went largely unnoticed, but his recent Live
performances and his contribution to Loraine have made people take
notice. If you caught him in the mountains above Malibu for
Cyberstock or at The Santora Arts Colony for the Loraine release
party you'll know what to expect. Surface 10 has a track entitled
"When are we going to grow out of this Kraftwerk shit?" on
Loraine, the 2xCD KUCI benefit compilation.
This show marks the three-year point for Space Disco For Fish
Tacos.
Wednesday, October 7, 1998 8-10pm: Mike Fix Live Performance
No one creates music like Mike Fix. When he's not busy putting
together Fix magazine, he creates a brand of trance that no one
has attempted before. Instead of the sterile production and subtle
changes that make up most trance, Mike blasts low fidelity noise
all over pounding basslines and thundering beats. But just as he's
beaten the sonic pulp out of you, his music opens up to beautiful
melodies, causing the listener to sigh in relief just before he
slams you again. Mike Fix has a release on Hook recordings called
"Steeldrum." He also donated the track "Daylight" to Loraine, the
2xCD KUCI benefit compilation.
Wednesday, October 14, 1998 8-10pm: Shad T. Scott Performs Live
He's opening for DJ Poopy at the Viper room, but besides that and
his rare live appearance alongside local hero Lexaunculpt at the
Loraine release party, Shad T. Scott doesn't play out much. When
he's not working on top 40 pop hits, Shad runs Isophlux. The label
serves to release his own music as well as that of James Bernard
and Lexaunculpt. Most of his material makes its way to Europe,
leaving the domestic releases strictly to hardcore train spotters.
In addition to his Isophlux material, Shad donated the track
"Traken Back" to Loraine, the 2xCD KUCI benefit compilation.
Wednesday, October 21, 1998 8-10pm: THC Performs Live
THC is the brainchild of George Sarah. After releasing an EP
of Hard Trance entitled "Consenting Guniea Pig" George began
writing drum n' bass material. When he teamed up with Vocalist
Sarah Folkman, his gothic roots got the better of him and the Duo
began enlisting the help of a string quartet for their live
performances. Whereas THC has performed on Space Disco For
Fish Tacos twice before, this will be the first time He's brought
the entire 6-piece live band. In addition to the "Consenting
Guniea Pig" EP, THC has released two instrumental 12" EP's on San
Diego's Intelligent label, a track on Kevin Lincoln's K2K
compilation "Los Angeles: Critical Mass" as well as the Track
"Branded (Instrumental)" on Loraine, the 2xCD KUCI benefit
compilation.
Space Disco For Fish Tacos has been on the air just shy of three

A bit of Clarification:
KUCI Is a closed studio, which means we are not equipped to have an
audience, so please don't ask to come down. Exceptions have been few
and far between, but due to recent theft problems I will definitely
not be allowing people to come down for the show. Whereas nothing has
been stolen during my show, I intend to keep it that way.
In addition, I am not able to make copies of live performances for
listeners. I understand that people out of KUCI's signal want to get
a hold of some of the live performances that I have, but those
performances are the property of the artist and out of respect for
them I cannot make duplications. However, once the signal is released from
our transmitter, I have no control over listeners making duplications.
