Yes Komet is a guise of Frank Bretschneider but there is also
a US rock band of the same name so be sure you're getting
the right artist before buying.
Regarding the similarity of the Komet releases to Bretschneider's
Rand album on Mille Plateaux, the Komet tracks are much more
structurally layered & complex as opposed to the more minimal
and simplistic tracks on Rand. I personally prefer Bretschneider's
Rand sound but the Komet releases are still good.
Bretschneider discog:
. Komet: flex cd (Rastermusic)
. Komet: saat cd (Rastermusic)
. Komet: 20 to 2000 - january cd (Rastermusic)
. Frank Bretschneider: rand cd/2xlp (Mille Plateaux)
Plus Bretschneider participated in varying degrees on these:
. Tol: trap cd (Rastermusic)
. Produkt: float cd (Rastermusic)
. Produkt: stretch cd (Rastermusic)
. Signal: waves + lines cd (Rastermusic)
. Signal: centrum cd (Rasternusic) [forthcoming]
Comp appearances:
. Microscopic Sound comp cd (Caipirinha)
. .aiff comp cd (12k)
. Clicks_+_Cuts comp 2xcd/3xlp (Mille Plateaux)
. 12k1008 comp cd (12k)
btw: there will be a new Komet album out on 12k over the
summer. so expect some more bretschneider output soon!
