bypassing the .ram , .ra, and .rm shenanigans... as far as I know you'd basically have to circle your audio out back into audio in and record it from there w/ your app using the levels as a guide (since you can't actually hear it when doing this). this is the technique i've used to record those ever overused Macintosh speech sounds. once you've got your AIFF or WAV file you could then make your mp3. but then again, why on earth anyone would want to go through such an ordeal to mp3 a real audio file is beyond me. i've recorded a real audio file to cassette before when I was desperate ...but that's the limit ;) Andrew larsonaj@muohio.edu
