the thing about bent crayon is that they have so much stock. there's never going to be a chance for
them to institute something as useful as online listening if they're composing weekly mailings of
200+ releases _with_ reviews. cheap has put out some records that i wouldn't take for free, so
while certain records are indispensible on cheap, they're really a hit and miss label and i
wouldn't buy anything sound-unheard from a lot of these labels. unless i know the artist/release
well in advance (e.g. something i've been waiting for, like andrea parker's "ballbreaker"), i won't
buy it without hearing it first, and even realaudio is better than listening over the phone.
