I agree on both counts. I was really anxious to hear Spectrum after I read what people were saying on the newsgroups and this list about it. I listened to it at the store and then double-checked the cover to make sure I had the right cd. It was decent, but not "mind-blowing" like people were saying. Perhaps the problem is that I am really enjoying "Explorers_We" by Farmers Manual and Matmos's "Quasi Objects." Now those ARE mind-blowing! I'm in a phase of craving unique sound textures and I felt the sounds on Spectrum didn't challenge me enough.
