I was listening to 'Deutscher Funk', and to the Pole track 'Berlin', earlier today. Basically, I was realising that I don't like it nearly so much as the 'Raum' 12". Although there's not -that- much difference between the releases (including the KiffSM one), I just really swim in both mixes of 'Raum'... Basically, what this boils down to is: does anyone know if the album is that very bass heavy, reverb soaked sound, or does it focus on the clicks? I dunno why I'm asking really, cos I'll get hold of it anyway, and I'm essentially asking someone to pin down feel more than technique, which is always a nightmare. I'm hoping that cutting BCR and Burial Mix stuff is gonna keep on rubbing off on the Pole material. I have no idea what the lag between something being released and getting hold of it on import to New Zealand is: has the Pole album actually been released? On a vaguely related note, I'm really enjoying Rhythm and Sound's 'Roll Off' 12", the beatless flip side especially. It's a fantastic take on dub in such a huge and flowing way. Yum. I think I got the name right. :-) Michael "You know what? I'll call him Jet Jaguar..." http://www.vuw.ac.nz/~michael/jj.html Site last updated 15/4/98
