My feeling is that for the money there's no better sampler than the Yamaha A3000. Of course, the MPC2000 has pads and a sequencer, and that's very nice if you want to play live. Then again, if you like using a computer you'll probably end up writing your songs using a software sequencer anyway. My recommendation: look at the A3000 and that new EMU one. bbn PS: I'm not positive, but I think the synthesis capabilities of the MPC2000 are pretty limited as well. That's a pretty major drawback.
