Skam steps up a gear with the packaging for this release, even the paper
insert comes on some heavy weight paper!, but as for the music... the
opening track 'Mauver' would be great if it wasn't for the vocoded vocals.
Track 2 is a dark ambient number with low in the mix crunching beats. On the
flip the first track is something new, and I like it, with its wigged out
squelchy drum patterns. But for those that long for the Bola sound of past
releases head straight for 'Vespers', certainly the standout track for me.
This makes up for the Wieve Stonder release.

Piano Magic : Music for Annahbird 7" [Bad Jazz BEBOP10]
Like isan, Glen Johnson (piano magic) has been plugging away on the smaller
7" labels for several years now, and here he returns on Suffolks Bad Jazz
with three more excellent soundscapes. The tracks are almost ambient, with
analog sounds and field recordings mixed over atmospherics. It all makes for
some interesting listening.
Geiom : Edits Metamatics 12" [Neo Ouija NEO003]
Geiom (aka Mear from Mask300) comes with his first 12" release on Neo Ouija.
This release is made up of four remixes of tracks from Metamatics' Distict 6
releases. All four tracks have a dark edge to them, but keep a groove
running throughout. The first sides tracks are much more beat heavy, where
as side two is more washed sounds and skiting fractured beats. Geiom is
definatly one to watch. There is a LP and another 12" planned for later in
the year.
