I would recommend everything Riley did from the early
60s (documented on Organ Of Corti's recent reissues,
the most recent of which is _Music For The Gift_, a
very strange collection of cool jazz, tape-splicing
experimentation and deconstructed
R&B that sounds very contemporary in a Stock, Hausen &
Walkman way) to 1980's _Shri Camel_ and another early-80s
album called _Moonhsine Dervishes_ (I may have left a word
out of this title). After _In C_ you may want to try
_Poppy Nogood And All-Night Flight_ on Organ Of Corti and
_A Rainbow In Curved Air_. From there, go to the double-CD _Persian Surgery
Dervishes_, which is available as an expensive European import
but is definitely worth it if you're a serious Riley head.
A devastating, psychedelic-jazz version of _In C_ can be found
on Organ Of Corti's 1999 issue of _Reeds Streams_. Essentially,
you should start saving your money for about 6-8 Riley discs.
