...not to mention the fact that many of the Matador/Capitol titles are available through such painfully mainstream avenues as Columbia House. but before we start wringing our hands and worrying about "what's to become of underground electronic music?" - didn't anyone notice my forward from Warp re: BoC and Matador? Warp says it aint happenin'. Does someone have proof otherwise? speaking of Matador - the Pizzicato 5 remix album is surprisingly decent. quite a few of these were released as a series of 12"s - but there's plenty of good stuff here. The Automator, 808 State, Daddy-O, DJ Dara, Gusgus, Sean O'Hagan, Oval, John Oswald (my favorite of the bunch), St. Etienne, Momus, The Shooter, Dimitri From Paris, Daniel Miller & Gareth Jones. makes me wonder why Matador doesn't just license the entire catalogue of Germany's Bungalow label.. if i see just ONE more high-profile magazine write-up of the Dimitri From Paris reissue, i really am going to cry. i guess you can scream and rant until you're blue in the face, but it don't mean a thing 'til it's got that Atlantic Records seal of approval. :n*r: np: Tokyo Combo - Uh Yeah
