okay, i've looked and can't find anything that's currently active about
whitezone. that evil boots web site is down, brap's site that had the info
is down, every link in an altavista search is broken. there is nothing on
hyperreal.
i agree w/ brock and i think there is a need to take all the trading, or at
least everything apart from single line notifications of a trade list or
auction, off idm-l.
so i've set up a onelist mail list IDM Mart, see info below, there's a brief
description at the URL shown
"This list is intended to be used as a forum to post trade lists, hold
auctions, or advertise auctions being held elsewhere. It is mainly intended
as a resource to buy, sell and exchange rare and out of print releases of
IDM and related experimental, electronic and ambient music. This list is
unmoderated and the list admin has no editorial control over the content
posted. "
You can also subscribe to the list in your browser or use the commands
below.
here's the details:
Category: Top : Shopping : Music : Recordings : Specialty : Urban, Dance,
and Electronica (<ack:()

Post message: idm_mart@onelist.com
Subscribe: idm_mart-subscribe@onelist.com
Unsubscribe: idm_mart-unsubscribe@onelist.com

please use this list, its there to help, post what you like, but try to show
some restraint, don't post the same thing every day. just use your heads,
remember its a public forum and don't get me into too much trouble.
one of the nice things about onelist is its automatically archived on the
web, which is especially useful for want lists and sales as non-list members
will be able to browse the ads.
its a shame idm is nearly all ads, and arguments about ads these days. i
can't stop that, but if someone pisses you off w/ blatant commercialism,
tell them about this list.
although i'd like to post an occasional reminder to idm-l, on say a monthly
basis, to promote this as an alternative for trading, i have no particular
attachment to idm mart, and will take a v. passive role in the admin. i may
not even be subscribed all the time if that's possible. if it gets to the
point where it needs active admin, i'll probably have to look about finding
someone to do it. so if ever anyone fancies a job ...
hope this works.
thanks
-martin
