Ofcourse they've heard afx and Ae, but I honestly think there sound is a fairly distinct original sound, would you not agree? Remember they were one of the first of the second wave post Ae sound. As far as them listening to hiphop etc.. You'll have to believe it, cause it's true. I'm friends with someone whose spent time with them and they really just listen to American rap/hiphop and artists from their lable. There actually huge Wu-Tang fans. But I don't think you should call them a rap group or compare them to others. Finally, I've yet to hear any of the tracks your referring to but by your description they sound awesome. Personally I'd like to hear Funkstorung destroy an mc, that sounds fresshhh. I for one am happy they have an 'Appetite For Disctruction' singed, olson ps- "MCs may as well not even be there, their flows are so destroyed by the music in the tracks" You realize, this is intentional. -=nihl=- -=nihl=- -=nihl=- arthurcravan50@hotmail.com -=nihl=- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

um. um. no comment.

i don't believe that for a second. i'm taking a wild stab in the dark here, but i think they listen to autechre and afx.
quoted 4 lines I've found most of the time it's not really of any use/fairness to compare> I've found most of the time it's not really of any use/fairness to compare > anybody with anything. > I've also always thought that when someone makes music it can sound > like itself and not reference anything
yes, but when you have a hip-hop MC rap over some beats that are clearly going for a hip-hop sound.. i think you're doing hip hop, or some neoelectrofunk take on it. and i'm saying in the case of the 2 tracks on the new funkstorung, it just plain doesnt work. the MCs may as well not even be there, their flows are so destroyed by the music in the tracks. -rk
