interesting question because it brings up a good point...I had a reply all prepared, but then I realized that it wasn't appropriate for this list. For my part, I would say that fatboy slim is NOT idm...choose your own explanation. Given the haughty nature around here sometimes, maybe the best (i.e. most elitist) definition I could give is this...if it's been on the radio or on TV and you can easily figure out who it is, then it's not idm. (correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this includes all those spiffy ads of late that are beginning to include more idm-friendly stuff.) In all seriousness, though, I'd say fatboy slim belongs with the chemicals, moby, the propellerheads and, maybe, even enigma...that is, electronic and dancy (and sometimes intelligent?) but never all at the same time...of course, I don't dance to IDM, so go figure... ---brian Kurt Behn wrote:
