I've owned a Gemini PT-1000 for almost a year now, and I use a pair of technic 1200's at the station I DJ at. I can safely say that at least for my use, the two are almost identical. Aside from the +/- 10% pitch on the Gemini, they're both sturdy, strong turntables with decent torque. Apparently the only real difference is the actual case (though they both weigh a good 25 pounds each) and color. But the motor is the same... etc. etc. Good value for money. Aaron
