hi folks,
in a very recent interview with a .be magazine, front 242 declared
themselves "dead and obsolete" eventhough they are still touring (see my
review of some months ago). they feel they "having nothing more to
contribute" to the current electronic scene and "feel surpassed" by so
many other bands. excuse me for my poor translation skills.
apparently, no new material will be released and some band members will
continue to pursue careers in other bands.
a possible new album to accompany their current tour was not mentioned,
eventhough a new techno-y chemical-bleep live-version of _first in first
out_ (from _front by front_) appears on the compilation _mind the gap
vol. 17_ (see my seperate mail on gonzo circus / mind the gap).
funniest quote from the interview : "we won the lottery and with that
money we bought an emulator-2".
