I have never used hardware. When i saw rebirth, i wondered why it had to
work as the original stuff seems to work. Since then ive learned more about
Graphical User Interface -GUI -how stuff in a computer look and work
basically, but still wonder why music software have to look like music
hardware. Theres thousands of ways to graphically represent a sound being
manipulated.. and the manufacturer chooses.... a knob. " just like the real
thing" BUT I DONT WANT THE REAL THING. After reading you guys promoting
mostly sentimental reasons for using hardware, Ive learned why.. its all
your fault. youve scared the software industry into believing musicsoftware
HAVE TO look like an instrument or physical objects because these musicians
love their instruments so dearly, and think the computer is "less africa" ,
"you cant work with your HANDS!" etc.. Im sick and tired of softsynths in
3d, with chunky knobs. This isnt the best soloution for working with sound,
and thats why so many on this list complains over working with a keyboard
and a mouse...no shit, the manufacturer is selling you a piece of
psuedohardware! -software have to be produced to be well working software
and nothing else.
