You definitely want to use benzine instead of benzeze. Benzene is very
bad for you, and can cause aplastic anemia and leukemia with repeated
exposure. Benzine, I believe is a Limey term; the stuff is also called
naphtha. The stuff I use is "mineral spirits", probably very similar in
composition to naphtha, and usually marketed as paint thinner(not paint
remover!!!!). This does a great job at dissolving the label goo, and
though it is bad for you, is not anywhere near as toxic as benzene.
Lighter fluid is probably a good bet, too, and comes in those neat
little squeeze containers that make it easier to use. A little bit on a
paper towel does the trick.
