i tend to think the opposite way, that Napster (and mp3s in general - this
is an old debate) introduce people to music they would not otherwise have
heard, and thus can only be beneficial to the music industry. most people,
at least the ones on this list, would probably agree that mp3 quality is
only so good - so if i hear in an mp3 i really like i delete it and go
look for the CD (okay, maybe not in that order). unless it's something
like the _one_ song that i like by some band whose music i don't respect
enough to ever buy their CD (ie. dave matthews "crush"). in which case
dave matthews and crew can go fuck themselves.
