You know, I AM aware of his other work Chris. Unlike most of you young
whippersnappers, I first heard the MI theme on the first night they
showed Mission Impossible. Even if it's now a cliche, try listening
again to it -- pay attention to the percussion -- it's fucking brilliant.
And if you can imagine it's impact back in the day when NO ONE had heard
anything like that. Dave Brubeck had done "Take Five" a few years before,
but Lalo found the soul of 5/4.
Which is why the black dog remixes were a great idea waiting to happen.
