<< Band 'X' - the flavour of the month, has a good

Band 'X' to the music press. Band 'X' are very
flattered. Band 'X' get invited to her studio,
probably full of bigtime dreams about working
with her. Their manager tells them that they
will sell a lot of extra records as a result
of it. The silken web is woven.
They then enter into a pact with the devil, basically. >>
Erm...one argument w/this....I really doubt Massey, Tricky, Bell, et al would
continue to work w/Bjork if they were truly getting screwed over like
this...one would assume they enjoy working w/her.
But I'm sick of the topic---everyone go out and get "Surrender to the Air"
it's 8 or 9 jazz/fusion guys working together (Medeski is the only one I can
think of off the top of my head). It's jazz, but it's real dark and
post-apocalyptic; great to drive to or just chill to.
Also, all you Dallas area IDMers--CD World on the Belt Line is a pretty hip
place...I picked up the new Stereolab for something like $11 and I grabbed a
copy of the Black Dog--Spanners for $6.
