I make music solely on my computer, and it works fine. I had a 486-33 up until about a year ago, and it worked fine as long as I was using only 8-bit samples. But I got a Pentium-100 and 16-bit samples work just fine. And as for RAM, unless I'm doing vocals, I almost never use more than 3 megs of the 32 I've actually got.
