Well - here I am : one of those fresh new faces on the idm list, and I've just spent half the morning downloading the incoming mails :-/ VINYL RULES !!! No doubt in my mind that the sound is 'warmer' and a better tone can be achieved, especially when running your output through a pre-amp. CD's, however pristine in their clinical clarity, somehow lack the soul of a really good vinyl pressing. Unfortunately it's *hard* to find current vinyl here (South Africa). Most available vinyl is 80's rock in junk shops or 12" 4-on-the-floor dance stuff. (and hello and thanks to Christopher Fahey for the warm welcome) I *
