Yes. Many Merzbow records (esp. some CDs) are deliberate endurance tests, with dynamics that range from 11 to as low as 9, that map out certain areas of wideband, noisy textures over 50-75 minutes. This record contains two original Merzbow tracks. The mixes are all consistent with the approaches of the contributors. The Panasonic and Autechre mixes use sounds derived from Merzbow originals, but the approach and structure are entirely different. What this means is the package as a whole ranges from rhythmic (Autechre) to non-rhythmic (most of the rest), and extremely loud (Merzbow original & re/mega/mix) to extremely quiet. Worthwhile if you like the contributors, and if your tastes range much further into left-field than Autechre. --Mark
