Picked up the Drexciya double CD on the strength of the EP on Warp. What
a big mistake (listen before you buy! listen before you buy!). This is a
simplistic, self-indulgent journey through the clichés of techno.
Reminds me of some of the old acid house comps I bought (ie: Jack the
Tab on Wax Trax) that were chock full of 3 minute forays into
mediocrity. This is musical shovelware.
The good stuff (and there is some) on this double CD could've fit on an
EP. I guess they wanted to go out with a bang, anticipating their
breakup..
