I can't help on finding old Mantronix stuff either (although I'd rcommend both The Album and Music Madness if you can find either). What I can tell you is that the megamix was a feature of both early albums, and both rank as favourite tracks of mine along with Baseline, Ladies and Electronic Energy Of... I am fairly sure that their was a UK issue Best Of LP which came in a grey cover and ran from 85-88. It came out just after Curtis had kicked MC Tee out of the group and had 'gone pop'. A friend has a copy so I'll see if I can get a catalogue number. The record would have been on Ten records licenced from Sleeping Bag Records, as were all their early UK releases. I'm fairly sure that the big squelchy Maaantrwwonix sample Coldcut used is from King Of The Beats, which was a non-album track only available on Import in the UK. I certainly haven't got a copy and I bought most of their early stuff on UK release. Anybody know what vinyl it is on? The first issue of Music Madness in the UK came with a limited edition second 12inch with a remix of Scream and a three track live set which has MC Tee rapping over the records. Also, there was a cassette single which had a wikkid Chad Jackson remix of Scream. Am I showing my age yet? If you like this stuff, look out for anything by T La Rock, Shannon's 'Let the Music Play' and 'All in All' by Joyce Sims, all produced by Mantronik. Finally, Mantronix got their name by sampling german (?) pop group Boytronix. Everybody in the place to be, this is Mantronix with MC Tee, Devoted, Promoted we're the one's that you voted, giving you a second chance so we made it sugarcoated... The man like Fridge.
