Morcheeba is amazing. It is Tricky-esque, but less nebulous than his "Nearly God" type stuff i.e., it has beats, hooks etc.). I Hate to get redundant with my comparisons, but its less heroin saturated than Tricky sounds. Moloko is kinda like what the Tom -Tom Club would sound like if they formed this year and were even more funky...a lot of fun with a side of Parliament. GREAT production and a consistent record. I'm not familiar enough with Hooverphonic to make a recommendation yet. I like the Sneaker Pimps, but find myself going more for the remixes and "B" sides than the US full length release.I haven't made up my mind on Lamb; many people love them, but it just hasn't grabbed me yet. The Portishead and Tricky records are more dark and and heavy than anything you've mentioned. Morcheeba would be the closest thing to them you've suggested, but again, they're somewhat different animals. No question that they show signs of Phead/Tr. influence, though. Baby Fox is like that, but lighter yet. Moloko is another category, IMHO - but a must own, nonetheless. If I were you, I'd grab the Sneaker Pimp singles ( BTW, I AM limited to cds), the Morcheeba and the Moloko anyway. jeff
