Went to the Lamb show last night @the Supper Club in NYC and all I can say
is... Wow!
They got a upright-bass player & trumpet/percussion guy with them and I
thought that it added a lot to their sound. The live players added a nice
element of surprise to the wicked beats & sultry vocals.
You know I'm amazed that the media is fixated on lame-o's like
the Prodigy and not Lamb. I mean, Lamb's got great vocals, good lyrics and
great music. The breaks on "Cotton Wool" sound like Photek with a dash of
Squarepusher's madness on top of it-- should make any IDMer smile. I don't
know of any other group/collaboration that has such a great combination of
intelligent beats & sounds mixed with trad. songs... unless you count
Bjork + Plaid.
Anyways, if Lamb are coming through your town I highly recommend going out
to see 'em. And next time you're in a shop find the Gorecki single and
give Ear Parcel a spin. Great stuff.
