yes, Tom. Agreed. Although I thought this would thread the ambient list, I'll throw in a penny to that. I find it interesting why many folks ( on this list & in general ) are so concerned with an artist *moving forward* and *paving new ground". I think Eno has done enough to the face of modern music and has influenced both the culture and subculture enough. At this point in his life and musical career he realy has no *need* to be a vanguard. What a load off of his shoulders! So much important work has come out, in all strata of the arts, *especially* music, that has not been concerned with being "progressive". While the work of say, for example, Richard Kirk has been VERY "pathbreaking" it also has had its moments of sloth, where nothing progresses. But to me, who cares? I am glad that Kirk, as with Eno, has done so much. I realy could care less if they are moving forward. I'm just glad they're *doing*. Sometimes a great CD, sometimes a loser. Did they change the face of music or effect it's future? snore..... for all the eager flamers out there.....*please* tell us all that every CD in your collection is a 100 % innovator. np: Lucid- Idylls and the secret remain bpm0@interport.net Peter Becker: Retail/Distribution Manager, DJ Pool *Asphodel Records* , PO Box 51, Chelsea Station, NY NY 10113 Phone # (212) 965-0265, FAX # (212) 965-0959 http://www.asphodel.com
