Um, it seems to me that many people working at MTV probably have pretty extensive, even encyclopedic knowledge of many genres of music. It's their job, it's what they do all day long. And the people who make AMP probably listen to a couple of thousand electronic music records and cds every year. These guys aren't rock people who are "cashing in on the electronica craze". MTV's top people (who are probably still into Springsteen) hired *other people* to make amp, and the people they hired were people just like us, people who have loved electronic music for many years. Just becasue the mass media is stupid doesn't mean that the people who make it are stupid. In fact, they are often very smart, very well-informed, very cool people who like weilding power. Unfortunately, they have bosses who tell them to make sure thay "play radio-freindly stuff" or "don't show the nude videos" and that kind of thing. I'd betcha most of the people on this list would drop everything and come-a-running if they were offered a electronic music related job working at MTV. -CF
