ok ... i will have to agree with anyone who can find fualt with some of mr kirks recording the last couple of years ... you cant put out that much stuff and not have some of it suck ... i myself (starter of the CV mailing list and CV fan for well over a decade) put off buying alot of the post CV releases ... much of it is just way way to similar ... *BUT* ... i think there is a new sound peeking its ugly head out of mr kirks phsyce... it can be heard best on agents with false memories ... kirks best disk last year and one of his best in a long time (i mean LOOONG ... ) its one 60 minute piece that breeds paranoia and head nodding in the same turn ... it takes kirks amazing ability to program odd sounds with his unparalleled experience with sampling to new levels ... even i had figured it was a fluke .. somthing that came from working with a completly different source .. something that made him break his music making mold (it is a sound track to an as of yet unreleased film) ... and i just figured we would be back to the same old kirk after this release .... and then BAMMMM yesterday i picked up god bless the conspiracy ... oh my ... after constant listening for the last 24 hours or so i have to say that there is a different sound here .. yeah its still kirk ... yeah some of its still housey ... but jesus he is expirementing again ... the first song on the disk is basically sample loops and odd syth/noise loops juxtaposed on top of each other to create a very moody piece ... as much mood as some early 80's CV i remember ... i will sit down later this week and give a detailed song by song review .. but i really feel something with this and the agents disk ... somethin' good annwn
