Sure its not the other way round? Picked up _Diof 97_ this weekend. Pretty
good stuff - kind of kids TV melodies and crunchy beats. Theres an electro
jam and a the remix of _Diof_ which doesn't do that much different. Tom J
plays bass on the last track with Chris on trombone - its quite moody and
cool though. I have a soft spot for Chris Jeffs ever since I saw him at the
Sheffield AFX gig, stood in front of Grant in the DJ booth with cotton wool
stuck in his ears.
Also picked up the new Sun Electric remix 12"s - the first one is the one
with a groovy slow Green Velvet remix and I think Thomas Fehlmann does a
remix as well (which is also very good - I'm a big fan of Tom's _Flow EP_
on R&S). The second 12" is drum'n'bass mixes - so-so. I spent most of the
weekend listening to the ace _Future Sounds_ comp. on Rephlex which is
retro Chicago house fun - there are some crackers on there. Also on a
Rephlex back catalogue tip, I picked up _Frequenseize_ on minty blue vinyl
- its amazing how dated some of this acid sounds now although theres a few
good workouts of the silver box on it. The new Buckfunk 3000 (Si Begg) on
Language is also boss.
