I also think people can have constructive criticism & praise for
anything that they are involved in or admire , especially something
like a record label. There have been so many labels that I have
admired across many genres/styles. Some of them, incidental to this
conversation,
are idm and relative subgenres. I have a very love/hate relationship
with many labels. I can recall on so many occasions thinking of a label:
"yeech, why did they put out *that* record?" or why are they lying about *that*
release date?" or "why did they do *that*?" But I also think that there
have been
occasions on this list ( I am not referring to anything *you* have
specifically posted)
when it seems fans of a label, such as Warp are maniacal with enthusiasm
and support
until something is a little screwed up or imperfect. At that point, they
want to burn their
praised label at the stake. Chill out, people!
so, yes. We can have it both ways.
