Parallel is a compilation of older tracks by BD -- like back to their very first releases, some extremely rare. Mostly very good, but not fully realized works the way "Spanners" is. Contains a couple of standout tracks that make it worth the price. Empathy Box is in my opinion pure magic in the early aphex lush harmonies over distorto beats vein. Hunt down the remix 12" too! Grab it if you can get it; if you don't like it you can resell it in 6 months when it becomes unavailable anywhere on earth. Speaking of Rephlex "You can't get it no more" Records -- I of course snapped up Bluff Limbo when it came out on CD last year, but I've not seen a copy anywhere since. Did they press a thousand or two and just sell them out? I keep recommending it to people who complain that it can't be found. As near as I can tell, EVERYTHING on Rephlex is a limited edition -- they print so many of them (probably never more than a couple thousand), and when they're gone they're gone. Grant hasn't made a big deal about this -- unlike FSOL "Strictly Limited Edition ISDN unless we can make some more cash by pressing up more." --------------------------------------------------------------------- Kent Williams kent@inav.net -- http://soli.inav.net/~kent
