I do have to agree.There is this undercurrent within techno to say..I
think it is so funny when you send out promos or Dj in a club and you
get these people that think that there the shit and that they are so
diff.than those guys that goto pop clubs,its' funny how soon as you put
something that is different then the so called norm,like beats that are
not IN 4/4 or a sounds that do not come from some Juno 60 or 303,909
crap,and are new.They get so bent out of shape.So I love it,Distributors
that tell me that it is not going to sell because it is to different,I
step back and think,FUNNY!!!!I thought this was a underground to cool
for school distributor or club,but no they, and 90% of the people, and
DJ's out there, are a bunch of closed minded pop geeks that will sit
around playing what ever is the hot new thing,that sounds just like the
last record that they played,(SODS)So think for a minute about the last
time you went to a club and the flyer lists 10 DJ,but the whole time you
are there it is just a four hour song all in the same key.The only thing
that changes is sometimes a beat is off or the face changes behind the
1200,the thrill of the night.What fun..
I think there is a percent of tekno artist that do what they want.You
could call it the punks of tekno or just people being themselfs.I would
rather sell 100 records of what I belive in and have 100 peolpe that
love it like a classic.Then sell 10,000 of a release that sounds like 30
others that week. Then end up on a used record pool and fade out.
