perhaps, on some level, idm is "intelligent" simply because it
stimulates, and propagates, discourse (ie. intellectual exercise)...a
conversation which is born out of difference - the multiple faces of
"dance music"...these are the concepts (eg. ambient, jungle, techno,
house, etc.), divisible only by their subtle (and, sometimes not so
subtle) differences...without difference there would be no concepts,
without concepts there would be no discourse, and without discourse
there would be no intelligence to ascribe to the music...but, then
again, it may be the case that "intelligence" is merely something
_attached to_ "dance music," not necessarily an inherent quality _of_
it; something which could, consequently, be removed...why remove it,
though? keep creating/re-creating difference,
(re)combining/(re)aligning, and fuel the difference-discourse...silence
is death...
just some thoughts,
