One of the things I like most about IDM and Amber in particular is that it operates mostly beyond the restraints of traditional (and boring) concepts of what consitutes a "song." If you listen carefully you'll discover that it's just a structure and progression you're not accustomed to. This is a GOOD THING! We've spent the last several hundred years working western ideas of melody and harmony into the ground. Isn't it time for something new? Miles
