First, I want to give a quick thanks to Hillie for trying to answer my u-zig inquiries. As I found, not a lot of current info is available on the Paradinas projects. This must hit his pocket-book in some way. Now, for the meat-and-potatoes... I have really liked the orchestration and atmospherics produced by Paradinas in all of his projects thus far. I first heard of U-zig through a CMJ sampler disc with Phiescope on it. I was sold. Then, I got hold of the backlog of U-zig catalog - really great work! I just listened to the entire Urmur Bile CD(Volumes 1&2). What the hell happened!? I hope Paradinas isn't content with this- I sure was disappointed. Why? Most of Urmur was composed of super-fast beats sounding like they came from a Casio $25 keyboard. Songs were "long," but for no real reason (no necessary development). Last question- "How did the music make feel?" (Isn't that what music is all about?) Like I was stuck in a waiting room after 10 expressos wiating to be interviewed by 60 executive for a job that doesn't exist! .... "And, what makes you so qualified for our important non-existant position?!" "I can repeat looped beats so quick. Reeel quick. Didcha get that, huh?!!!!!!!!" I miss Kid Spatula! There's always tomorrow...
